Māori Scholars
BRNZ is committed to developing a thriving Māori neuroscience and healthcare workforce, to ensure we create a pipeline of talented Māori researchers and clinicians working in a field of increasing importance for Māori. Our centre offers summer, Masters and PhD scholarships for talented Māori researchers starting their careers in neuroscience. We also offer the Eru Thompson Postdoctoral Fellowship, named after Te Rikawa Dallas (Eru) Thompson – kaumatua of Te Kawerau a Maki – who played a pioneering role in the introduction and ongoing development of Māori cultural attitudes in the University of Auckland’s teaching and research activities involving human tissue.
